We support women’s leadership journeys—especially Indigenous women so they can access, remain, and grow in decision-making roles. We bring together training, mentorship, and a professional network to turn learning into results.

Where we work

A territorial presence that strengthens networks and results.

Our work takes place in territories where partnerships and training multiply impact. We currently support leadership in six departments across Guatemala, strengthening capacities and collaboration among organizations and communities.

Mission

The Association Mujeres Liderando Guatemala provides training and collective support to promote active participation and equitable leadership among Guatemalan women who have historically been excluded from decision-making spaces and positions of power in civil society, with a specific focus on Indigenous women.

Vision

We envision a Guatemala where Indigenous women are leaders and decision-makers, building and contributing to a country that promotes and protects the rights of its diverse communities, especially girls and women.

Meet our Board of Directors in Guatemala

The Board of Directors is made up of founders, women leaders who graduated from previous cohorts, and a finance expert. As the organization’s governing body, it is responsible for providing strategic direction to AMLG and legally representing the organization. Their experience in civil society management, financial administration, and work with international organizations brings significant value to institutional strengthening. In addition, board members work closely with the Executive Director to ensure transparent, consistent management aligned with AMLG’s Mission and Vision.

Founders

The founding organizations hold a broad, transformative vision for the country. Their current role is to serve as an advisory committee to the Board of Directors and the Executive Directorate of Mujeres Liderando. Drawing on their years of experience in civil society organizations in Guatemala, they continue to contribute ideas, lessons learned, and strategic perspectives. They also remain committed to creating spaces where more Indigenous women can train, prepare, and lead positions of power within Guatemalan civil society.
