Target audience

Women especially Indigenous women who already hold leadership roles (coordination, management, co-director positions) and have strong potential to take on strategic roles within civil society and community organizations.

Program content

  • Language training (Maya or English)
  • Management and leadership: Structuring impact-driven initiatives (budgets and plans); program management (implementation, monitoring, and team leadership).
  • Strategic communication: Narrative tools to showcase organizational achievements.
  • Networks and collaboration: Skills to build connections and foster mutual support.

Training methodology

Duration and format: A two-year hybrid process (virtual and in-person). proceso híbrido (virtual y presencial) de dos años.

1. Personalized language training (Maya language or English):

Participants choose between two language training options, tailored to their interests and contexts. The program requires a commitment of four hours per week and is designed to help participants reach an intermediate level of communicative proficiency. 

2. Management strengthening:

It requires a monthly commitment of 1.5 hours in virtual training sessions, plus additional time dedicated to practical application within each participant’s organization. This process includes personalized support and mentorship to integrate learning into real leadership and management contexts.

3. Six in-person gatherings over two years

Tailored to the group’s needs, combining training, reflection, and territorial connection.

Professional support network:

 The program creates spaces for exchange, support, and collective learning among the women professionals who participate. This network fosters mutual learning, strategic collaboration, and leadership development grounded in connection, trust, and a shared vision.

Program outcomes and competencies

By the end of the two-year training process, the program will have strengthened a new generation of women leaders especially Indigenous women—with strategic, communication, and organizational skills, prepared to create impact in their territories, organizations, and decision-making spaces.
